My Opinion

You can not go wrong with this yarn in my opinion. It is a little pricey compared to lower end cotton yarns like Lily Sugar n Cream but its also so much easier to use. I experienced no splitting at all with this yarn. If you are used to using cotton yarns you know how prone they are to splitting. I had absolutely no splitting and I have also machine washed and dried finished projects multiple times and it’s held up perfectly. The subtle sheen of the yarn makes your stitches super defined and timeless.

I really love using natural fibers as much as possible so I am very happy to have discovered this yarn! I can’t wait to purchase different colors in the future.

Where to Buy

I found this yarn at Downtown Yarns while visiting New York City. Unfortunately, they do not have online shopping. I prefer buying yarn at independent yarn stores but when in doubt there is always Love Crafts! Love Crafts offers this gorgeous yarn in a whopping 54 different colors! Another great way to buy online and super an independent store is through Ravelry. If you search for a yarn on Ravelry on the right side of the yarn page it will list “where to buy.” when you click that you can find stores that sell online and who knows maybe one of them is close to you!

And of course Amazon sells the yarn if your in a time crunch and looking for fast and free shipping.

Project Ideas

The yarn is very durable, extra tough and ridiculously soft. Perfect for baby or children clothes, warm weather ware to home items. I know any outfits I make for my kids out of this yarn will stand the test of time and still look great when their children wear them one day.

I personally have used this yarn to make an adorable ruffle top for my daughter. I used the color sage and this gorgeous romper pattern. I was making it for a family photo shoot and ran out of time so I decided to make it into a top instead of a romper. I stopped the pattern right at the decrease section and added a row of single crochet on the bottom. I highly recommend any of Mon Petit Violon’s gorgeous children patterns to use with this yarn. She has really great photo instructions for all her patterns making it super easy for the eager beginner!

I plan to make more clothes for my kids in the future and then use my saved up scraps to make kitchen towels or wash cloths. If you are looking for a decorative kitchen towel to make with this yarn. I have two free towel patterns that would look gorgeous with it!

    I’ve used Cascade Ultra Pima & Ultra Pima Fine for years. Its always my go to cotton yarn for the exact reasons you said, NO SPLITTING, the color variety, the fact that projects withstand & hold shape & the sheen. Thank you for doing such a positive review. I’ve tried many citton yarns & splitting was my biggest issue.
